Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange has been released from the hospital
following a reported suicide attempt Saturday, January 2, 2010.
A New Jersey police detective tells the Associated Press that Lange
underwent surgery for self-inflicted stab wounds to the abdomen. The
detective says the 42-year-old comic was taken to the hospital
Saturday after his mother found him on the floor of his home.
Lange’s publicist declined comment and requested that his client’s
privacy be respected. Howard Stern and co-host Robin Quivers said on
the air Thursday that their thoughts are with Lange, his mother and
his sister.
