Who is this outrageous dance-pop party girl behind the smash hit “TiK ToK” and why does she spell her name with a dollar sign?
“It was me taking the piss out of the fact that I was broke while being on a No.1 record. (She sang on Flo Rida’s “Right Round”) and I didn’t have enough money to buy a taco. One of my friends was like, “what-ever, you don’t need money, you’re money.” she said. “So I switched the ‘S’ in my name to a ‘$’ to remind me.”
“The reference to P. Diddy in “TiK ToK” came about when I woke up one morning surrounded by all my hot babe friends. They crashed after a night out. And I thought, “This must be what Diddy feels like every morning.”
“I sang background vocals for Paris Hilton’s second single and we were at her house partying that night, we were all dancing you know? Hanging out.
Anyway, I got over excited and ralphed in her closet!
