Salma’s role in ‘Cirque du Freak’ as the Vampire’s Assistant has her sporting a beard. Salma claimed that though her daughter was only 7 months old, she didn’t freak out about seeing her mother dressed as the bearded lady. She said: “She saw me with a beard. She understands it is make-up. She was seven months old and she was not freaking out. I explained the process to her, and she saw it and was fascinated with it, but she knew not to touch it because it was fake. She was with me the whole time, and I had to show it to her, or I wouldn’t have seen her the whole day. I couldn’t put it on and take it off.”
This isn’t the first time Salma has had to sport facial hair for a role. She also played the uni-browed artist Frida Kahlo in ‘Frida.’ She admits that she is a bit tired of the hairy roles.
