“Southland’s” Actress StunnedRegina King was finishing a photo shoot and interview for TV Guide, promoting “Southland’s” new season when she received a call, just days before the Season 2 premiere, that NBC had just canceled her show.
King voiced her deep concerns over NBC’s inexplicable failure to promote a show that made her proud. “The first episode is so freakin’ good!” she said before getting the bad news. “I was so drawn into it, I forgot I was watching a show I was on. It’s that good.”
As of now, King’s Det. Lydia Adams is off duty.
Too bad NBC viewers won’t get the chance to see it. We’ll have to wait for the DVD.
