Sharon Stone was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Acting award on Sunday for her role in ‘Basic Instinct.’ She took time to speak about the infamous leg-crossing scene, where she was seen without underwear. She said that she was surprised with the publics reaction to the scene. Stone said: “After a week of considering to stop the release of the movie, I decided it was appropriate for the character in the film and it should stay in.”
The New York Post reported: “The audition for ‘Basic Instinct’, Sharon Stone wore an Armani pantsuit and a sheer blouse with no bra underneath just to show she had no problem with nudity.” Stone confessed that she tried to win the role for eight months, but didn’t get a look until she bravely showed off her body. Stone added: “After 12 actresses tuned down the role, it was finally mine.”
