Finally, “How I Met Your Mother,” May Reveal Our Mystery Mother? In January “How I Met Your Mother” will show it’s 100th episode, and it’s rewarding it’s loyal viewers with the mystery mother! “There will be some serious mother action in this episode,” reveals executive producer Craig Thomas. “It’ll be the closest Ted’s ever come to disclosing her identity.” Each episode this season has been getting closer, setting us for it.
Although Thomas hasn’t outright confirmed Ted’s future wife being unmasked in this episode, he has hinted that he and fellow executive producer Carter Bays, “are spending a lot of time trying to cast the perfect female for that role.” This milestone episode will also climax with what Thomas calls a “big-ass musical” number headlined by the show’s resident song-and-dance man, Neil Patrick Harris. “There will be a huge Barney story culminating in an enormous musical number that we’re going to spend way too much of Twentieth Televisions money on,” Thomas says with a laugh. “Fans of Neil’s performance at the Emmys will enjoy the ending of the episode. It’s not a musical episode, but all of a sudden it becomes one. It’ll probably be one of the craziest things we’ve ever done.” And this show has set the crazy bar pretty high.
