The star, whose movie ‘Inglourious Basterds’ debuted at the Cannes Film
Festival last night (20.05.09), accepted the part after a raucous night out
with director Quentin Tarantino.
He laughed: “We went out together… I got up the next morning and saw,
like, five empty bottles on the floor and some sort of smoking device on the
floor. Then, somehow, six weeks later I was doing the film.”
In the movie, the 45-year-old actor plays a US army lieutenant who is
leading a band of Jewish-American soldiers in the fight against the Nazis in
World War II. Mike Myers and Diane Kruger also star.
Brad – who raises six children with his partner Angelina Jolie – explained
he was initially unsure about signing to the film, but was convinced when he
heard more about it.
He said: “As I get older, it’s about the company you keep because you’re
away from your family.
“This was something new for me. I wish all films could be made this way.
It’s definitely outrageous, which I was game for!”
