Lauren goes for a Pulizter

Society’s bastion for culture, values and philosophic musings, Lauren Conrad, has signed a three book deal.

I know what you’re thinking. She’s no Truman Capote, Salman Rushdie or Lynne Spears, but she’s planning on writing the books for young adults, who in my experience, are much easier to fool.

The books, expected to hit shelves next summer, will be loosely based on Conrad’s life. “It’s definitely influenced by my own life,” Lauren told People Magazine. “The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities.”

Quite the stretch of imagination there.

When asked if she had shared her good news with everyone, she told People that “I’ve told my best friends and they have all been really supportive. Nobody was worried.”

Nobody…. Was worried?

Except the literary community of course…watch out!

UPDATE: The photo attached is captioned on people.com as (I’m not making this up) “Lauren’s Author Photo”. Because thats the first step in writing a book, what picture of you will go on the book jacket.
