I’m really sorry if you are sick of hearing about Lynne Spear’s book, but I still think its super funny, and I’m the one writing the articles. Please click away if you are not humourly inclined.
People Magazine recently interviewed the enabler mother of three about her new book “Through The Storm”. She seems to truly have no idea that she screwed her daughters, and doesn’t have much regret for what happened to them. Any regrets she may have had went away shortly after she cashed their first pay cheque and bought herself a gold plated robot masseuse.
She says if she had to do it all over again, she would still put herself and her entire family through the train wreck that is their lives. She tells people that ““I think you have to let them follow their dreams. I think it would be worse in the end if you didn’t.”
So when I have a kid who tells me at 6 he wants to be an astronaut, I should box him up and ship him to NASA?
She says she regrets not listening to her gut, and admits she wasn’t a perfect mom. (Haha!) She says “every mother makes mistakes.” Which I’m sure is true, but I’m also pretty sure my mother never encouraged my alcoholism at age 13. (Though now she’s ALL FOR IT!)
She then added that “writing this book was a completely selfless act, that I just happened to get paid a million dollars for.”
