We were warned Britney wouldn’t be performing (though we were all secretly hoping she would) but as her manager told the media, she would be doing something “Fun and unexpected”. It was supposed to be a big hush-hush surprise.

Well, the big surprise was… 

WARNING!! SPOILER ALERT!! OMG!!!!!!

She walked onstage and said “”Thank you so much. Thank you for all the love. I’m here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday, the 25th anniversary of the VMAs. This is the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and it starts right now.”

Can you even HANDLE it?! The shock? The Awe?

If this is any indication about what’s to come, I can’t WAIT until her next album! It will probably be something just as exciting like her  explaining the process of cell division!

Oh yeah, and she also won three awards including video of the year.
