Jessica Simpson performed in the Music Mecca that is Wisconsin yesterday to promote her foray into country music. Jessica sang her new single “You’re My Sunday” and dedicated it to her boyfriend Tony Romo. Telling the audience “Tonight there’s this guy here, he throws a football and he’s really good at it. He’s my better tomorrow and I wrote this song for him.”

I think that’s sweet…?

The good news is she’s still in love. The bad news is the single, like Romo’s superbowl hopes, failed to reach the end zone (ZING!). Before she even sang a note she was met with a mix of cheers and boos. Getting booed before you even open your mouth is usually a bad sign, but our little trooper decided to go on with the show. Wisconson newspapers reported audience members were not to pleased with the new song. Whoppers such as “She doesn’t belong here” and “She’s an embarrassment to country music” were thrown Jess’ way.

Here’s hoping she keeps on trucking! After trying pop, gospel, hip hop, country and John Mellencamp samples what’s left?
