Maggie Gyllenhaal has been busy promoting The Dark Knight, which she co-stars with the late Heath Ledger and Christian Bale.  However, she has more important things to focus on: being a mother and being at home more often.

“I think having a child changes everything and has deepened everything in my life,” said the actress, who is a mother to a 20-month old little girl.  Motherhood has changed Maggie, including how she feels about work (for now).  She plans to spend more time at home because she says it is very difficult to be away from her daughter.  But what brought her back to the big screen in the first place?  Well, she mentioned that she needed a very edgy and challenging movie to bring her back, for the challenge made it more worth her while.
