Unfashionable ‘Sex and the City’

Screaming of ‘Patricia Field’, the ‘Sex and the City movie’ starlets came clad head to toe in this season’s fresh and forgiving fabrics, pretty carryalls and clutches and the iconic shows’ signature to-die-for heels. One is reminded then that fashion is to Sex and the City as water is to mammals, both inseparable, and with the former essential to the latter’s survival.

However, one designers’ fashion goldmine can be another’s dull rust — an adjective reportedly used by Vivienne Westwood, another influential designer who contributed to the ‘Sex’s’ fashion portfolio — namely Sarah Jessica Parker’s killer wedding dress. Despite Westwood’s active participation in the movie, she expressed disappointment at the styling choices made on set and remarked, “I went to the premiere and left after ten minutes.”
