Former child star and Oscar winner Tatum O’Neal will keep her gig on TV show Rescue Me. Just a few weeks back, O’Neal was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She was caught buying drugs off a homeless man near her New York apartment, and has been heavily scrutinized by the media because of her use of several contradicting excuses, from “researching a role” to being depressed about the death of her dog.
Rescue Me co-creator Peter Tolan is planning on having O’Neal’s character Maggie return to the show for its fifth season. “We want to bring her back, and I haven’t heard anything about why she wouldn’t be available to us. It’s a misdemeanour, so she’s not going to do time, and nobody has said to us we can’t insure her or anything like that. So I’m assuming she’s available to us and it’s ‘business as usual.’”
