The frontman, Andrew Hoepfner, of The New York band The Creaky Boards claims that Chris Martin of Coldplay,came to his band’s show in October of 2007 and heard them perform the song ironically titled “The Songs I Didn’t Write.”

He says that Coldplay’s new single, “Vida La Vida,” is a ripped off from his song! He created a YouTube video comparing the two songs, captioned with his thoughts about the situation. In the video, he writes: “We were flattered when we thought we spotted Chris Martin in the crowd that night. He seemed pretty into it! …Maybe TOO into it.”

Coldplay’s rep says that “Vida La Vida” was recorded in March of 2007.
