Tom Hanks Banned from Churches in Rome
Multiple Oscar winner Tom Hanks and acclaimed film director Ron Howard can’t film in churches on location in Rome while shooting the Dan Brown novel, and prequel to the Da Vinci Code, Angels + Demons. The best selling book discusses the possibility that Jesus might have been married and fathered children.
“It’s a film that treats religious issues in a way that contrasts with common religious sentiment.
We would be helping them create a work that might well be beautiful but that does not conform to our views,” says the representative of the Roman diocese.
Hanks and Howard are permitted to film the exteriors.
