44 year-old actress and Dancing with the Stars alumni Tatum O’Neal was arrested Sunday night on the suspicion of buying crack cocaine near her Lower East Side home. The police found a pipe in her possession and she was reportedly buying the illegal drug from a homeless man!
The Oscar winner famously shared her story of heroine addiction and substance abuse with the world in her 2004 memoirs and reportedly told the police that she had been clean for 2 years.
O’Neal reportedly asked the police “Do you know who I am?” and then attempted the much-used celebrity excuse that she was researching a role. When they discovered the pipe she changed her tune and told the police that they had saved her from her first relapse in 2 years.
There’s no comment yet from her rep and there’s no word whether or not she will have to stand up in court.
