Queen Elizabeth’s husband Prince Philip admitted to the hospital with chest infection

Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, has been rushed to hospital suffering from a chest infection. A spokeswoman said Prince Philip, 86, was taken to King Edward VII’s Hospital in central London for “assessment and treatment for a chest infection.”

The Queen’s 86-year-old husband was admitted to London’s King Edward VII Hospital on Thursday for assessment and treatment for the illness, it’s been confirmed.

The British Royal first sparked fears for his health on Wednesday when he missed the thanksgiving service for Mount Everest conqueror Sir Edmund Hillary at Windsor Castle.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman confirmed the news, adding, “His Royal Highness’s programme of engagements for the weekend have been cancelled.”
