The “pregnant man” will be appearing on Thursday’s Oprah Winfrey show to share his thoughts and feelings on being pregnant. Thomas Beatie, born Tracy Langondino, received media attention after writing an article for ‘The Advocate,’ a magazine for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered readers.
In the article, Beatie says that he was born a woman. He went through breast reconstruction surgery but kept his female organs.
On Oprah, Beatie explains that his wife was unable to get pregnant because she had a hysterectomy. “I see pregnancy as a process and it doesn’t define who I am,” he says. “Ironically, being pregnant doesn’t make me feel any more female or feminine.”
The couple’s daughter is due on July 3, 2008.

This is not an attempt to judge anyone but those that have mentioned that this is wrong are correct. First of all, this is a woman. Lets stop with the “pregnant man” headlines. The Lord made her a WOMAN. Heck, she still LOOKS like a woman. This was a deliberate publicity stunt. The devil is cunning and sly. How come the people with the narrowest minds are always equipped with the biggest mouths? I am personally torn with this. I dont think its a sin, but I dont think they should have done it this way, I think that Thomas getting pregnant for his wife only shows how much he loves her. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT DECIDED TO MAKE THIS PUBLIC AND THEY ARE THE ONES TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF IT!!! Nobody would have bugged them had they just had a baby like a normal couple. This is not newsworthy as this is just another woman having a baby…she provided the egg and not the sperm for this child.
it doesn’t bother me that these two people want to have a baby being that she is a he but they made it EVERYONE business by going public with it. So I am going to give my opnion about this.
He is not a he. He is a she. She still has fallopian tubes; eggs; ovaries; and so on; which make you a female, a “fat” clit doesn’t make you a man it only makes you a female with a “fat” clit! so this big amazemnet that SHE is having a baby isn’t so amazing, it’s just another leziban couple conciving a child through in semenation. so I don’t think that it’s quite amazing that she is pregnant because in my eyes it’s NOT a he it’s a she. if I cut my breast off shaved my head a took some testerone to grow facial hair i would “look” like a dude too but I AM NOT! and neither is she!
That’s my opinion take it or leave it. No reason for name calling these two people made it public for people like everyone on here to comment on and because i live in the wonderful america I have that right!

Well im only fifteen years old but i heard about this guy a while ago and ive been looking for a way to contact him since then, i just want to say that i heard about the hell that he was put through and all the harassment he got from emails from other people, i read all of these submitions and it really dissapoints me. People now a days dont look at the big picture, all they see is a pregnant man who used to be a woman, that was his choice to be a man, and he got pregnant because he wanted a child and his wife couldnt have a child, thats true love, he made a sacrifice for something he wanted and somebody he loved, theres nothing wrong with that, its truly dissapointing that he had to go through what he did, i think that he should be marked as the father of the baby, and i think that people should respect him, because he did all of this for the person he loved and because he wanted a child, i admire him and so should everybody else.

Bringing a child in to this world is a gift, loving that child with your whole heart is an honor and an life-long commitment. This couple is willing to risk their own reputation in order to love a child.
Too many children are born in to this world and then forgotten. They grow up without love, food, family etc. Does the fact that they have a traditional mother and father make this more acceptable to so many of you than a non-traditional family raising a child enveloped with love?
The couple did not decide for the husband to carry their child for publicity, the wife is unable to carry a child. Should they have hired a surrogate mother to carry a fetus for 9 months? They are a loving couple who used the uterus they had available to them! Years ago people were upset at the idea of fertilizing an egg in a pietri dish because it wasn’t as nature intended. Insemination has now provided many couples with little bundles of joy, and we celebrate those births as joyous occasions.
They went public with their story so they could tell the world the true story, rather than people whispering behind their backs. It takes love, courage and honesty to face the criticisms of our world. Their love for a child obviously the most important thing in the world to them

I cant hae a baby, and I am naturally a woman. If my husband had the chance to do this for me I know he would, but we are not all as blessed as they are.
