Lisa Marie Presley is suing over an article speculating about her weight gain.
The singer reluctantly announced on Friday she is infact pregnant, and her British lawyer Simon Smith says Presley is to sue the Daily Mail over their original article highlighting her weight gain because of unsavoury comparisons to her late father Elvis.
He says the report – which claimed she has an “unhealthy appetite” and was “growing like her dad” – had left his client “deeply upset and offended”.
Presley herself published a statement on her Myspace page following her pregnancy announcement on Friday slamming the stories.
Her spokesperson Cindy Guagenti adds, “It’s like, ’she’s gonna die like her father’, ‘her and her mom are in a fight because of her weight’ – that’s not true at all. It’s just awful stuff.
