The stepbrother of The Hills star Heidi Montag has died in a bizarre accident. Eric O’Hara, who returned home from serving in Iraq and Afghanistan in the 82nd Airborne Division just a month ago, was working at a Colorado hotel when he fell to his death. PageSix reports that the 24-year-old was removing snow from the roof of the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel and had released a safety clip to allow him more movement when a piece of ice broke loose, causing him to fall over the edge. Eric’s uncle, Dave Patston, told the Rocky Mountain News: “Having made it through 15 months in Iraq, and then to have this happen…it’s really tough.”
