Hollywood hunk Ryan Reynolds is set to star in the upcoming blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The 31-year-old actor has reportedly signed up to play legendary comic-book villain Deadpool in the highly-anticipated movie alongside Australian actor Hugh Jackman. A source said: “Fans were excited by rumors the film would feature Deadpool because he’s a legendary villain for Marvel comics readers. So they’ll be delighted to know Ryan’s going to play him. “Deadpool is a mentally unstable mercenary, with special healing powers just like Wolverine’s. He is full of funny one-liners and wisecracks. It’s just the sort of thing Ryan is great at.” Ryan, who is set to squeeze into Deadpool’s trademark tight red costume for the role, recently admitted he is partial to wearing a “red onesie”. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is scheduled for release in 2009.
