Nearly two years after Paul McCartney and Heather Mills announced their separation, the duo appeared in a London court Monday to hammer out a divorce resolution. McCartney, 65, and Mills, 40, who wed at an Irish castle in 2002, are battling over a financial settlement for Mills and arrangements for their four-year-old daughter Beatrice. According to previous reports, the former model is seeking a deal worth up to $100 million.The McCartneys’ divorce circus kicked off this morning with Heather Mills first to arrive at court. Miss Mills, who is believed to be representing herself in a case which could set a new record for divorce settlements, turned up in a black Mercedes which came to rest in a disabled parking space alongside the court complex. The former model, who lost a leg in a road accident in 1993, was ushered from behind the tinted windows of the vehicle and headed for the nearby court, its windows covered to stop anyone seeing through the doors. Sir Paul arrived a few minutes later, smiling and looking relaxed but declining to comment on the hearing. Questioned about whether he would settle the case today, he replied: “Good morning.”Our thoughts?
