In what was without a doubt the best performance of the night, Kanye West lit up the 50th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night with a future-shock show that was part trademark showboating and part humble tribute to his mother. The singer electrified the audience with a powerful performance of Stronger. After that, it was time for Kanye to honour his late mother, Dr. Donda West, as only he can. With his voice cracking with emotion, he crooned the lines, “Last night I saw you in my dreams/ Now I can’t wait to go to sleep.”
