Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs pleads with young voters

Rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has pleaded with young people in the US to vote in the forthcoming presidential elections. Combs was part of the non-partisan group Citizen Change in 2004, which attempted to increase the youth vote in America. He hopes the group’s efforts will reach fruition with this year’s November elections. The hip-hop-star told the Associated Press: “If we want to stop the war, if we want to get the economy better, I think that young people need to understand they have to take matters into their own hands. “The seeds that we planted in ‘04 are now coming to fruition, a lot of young people have decided that this is their future. This president is going to decide their future.” Talking about the race for the Democrat Party candidacy between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama, he commented: “To have an African-American man and a woman in, it’s going to go down in history as the most historical election. And I think that young people will have a hand in the result.”
