More than five million AskMen.com readers voted for “the women who best embody all the qualities of an ideal girlfriend or wife” and Katherine Heigl finished in first place on the Web site’s eighth annual “Top 99 Most Desirable Women” list. “Each year we look forward to see who our readers determine as the most desirable women and this year’s list really goes to show who they relate with and find beautiful, charming and personable,” said James Bassil, editor-in-chief of AskMen.com. “As our site continues to expand worldwide and reach more men, we love the diversity of the list and feel that there is at least one woman on the list that each of our eight-million readers would find as their perfect companion.” Rounding out the top five were Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, Kate Beckinsale, Eva Mendes and Jessica Alba. Also making the cut were Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Rihanna, and Eva Longoria Parker. “I think I probably climbed in the ratings because I married Tony Parker,” commented the Desperate Housewives star, who ranked 29. “So people think, ‘Cool! Sports guy!!’ All of that is really flattering and fun. Someone asked me, ‘How does it feel to be called sexy and make all these lists?’ And I said, ‘Well, I guess it’s better than the alternate lists — the not-so-hot of the year!’ So I’d rather make those lists.”
