It was another wild and tragic night for Britney Spears. Her psychiatrist reportedly visited her yesterday and Brit-Brit’s behaviour warranted hospitalization, another 5150 under California law, meaning she is a danger to herself and others. Police were called and she was taken, quietly this time, by ambulance from her Studio City home around 1 a.m. to UCLA Medical Center, where her doctor practices. Mom Lynne has been on the scene. She will be held for 72 hours. After that, a doctor could order her to be held longer. What brought on the hospitalization? “She was driving around her neighborhood like a mad-woman,” a Spears family source tells People. “Britney has been prescribed medication which she refuses to take. This is just another sad, sad evening.” Manager/friend Sam Lutfi and Spears’s father, Jamie, arrived at the hospital shortly after the singer. Her mother was later spotted leaving the home with Spears’s photographer beau, Adnan Ghalib. Earlier in the night, Internet rumours claimed that the singer had attempted suicide, but those were refuted by the family. To be continued…
