Amy Winehouse nominated as ‘Villain of the Year’ at Shockwave NME Awards

Amy Winehouse
Music fans have put the boot into sickly rehabber Amy Winehouse comparing her to hate figures George Bush and Tony Blair. The 24-year-old is up against the two politicians after fans voted the drug-stricken singer in the ‘Villian of the Year’ category at this year’s Shockwaves NME Awards. The backlash didn’t stop there after fans also attacked her doggy tattoos and changing hair pieces, voting her into the ‘Worst Dressed’ category alongside junky pal Pete Doherty. But fans did hand Wino some credit for her chart topping Back To Black album, voting her into the ‘Solo Artist of the Year’ prize as well as for best ‘Music DVD’. The tide has also turned against top clothes horse Kate Moss who was snubbed from the ‘Sexiest Woman’ category for the first time in years. Instead she was up staged by Kylie and ‘Umbrella’ songstress Rhianna who both got the nod from fans. But it was Sheffield young guns the Arctic Monkeys who will be the success story of the night after they received seven nominations including ‘Best British Band’ and ‘Best Live Band’. The event takes place at London’s Indigo O2 on February 28.
