Canadian TV star Adamo Ruggiero has announced he is homosexual, five years after landing the role as a gay teen in Degrassi: The next generation. The 21-year-old actor plays gay student Marco on the hit teen drama, but insists he didn’t accept the role just because of the character’s sexuality. He says “I didn’t plan it that way. Maybe it’s life imitating art. Degrassi let me do something real and I kind of feel like I’m living proof of what the show was working to accomplish.”
