Will Smith recruited by the church of Scientology

Will Smith, Tom Cruise Actor/singer Will Smith has joined the ranks of Hollywood power players actively recruiting for the Church of Scientology. Big stars traditionally distribute “wrap presents” to crew members after completing a film. His recent gift after wrapping next summer’s comedy Hancock was a card good for a personality test to be taken at the Scientology center. The quiz is designed to convert people to the religion by identifying personality flaws that Scientology can fix (for a fee.) Smith, who is best buddies with the church’s #2, actor Tom Cruise, has never confirmed that he joined the church. But he told Access Hollywood last month: “I was introduced to it by Tom, and I’m a student of world religion. I was raised in a Baptist household. I went to a Catholic school, but the ideas of the Bible are 98% the same ideas of Scientology, 98% the same ideas of Hinduism and Buddhism.” Smith’s rep was traveling with the actor on Tuesday and unavailable for comment.

I used to really like Will Smith, but I had no idea that he was a Scientology convert. I really don’t care to pay to see someone whose religious beliefs were made up by a science fiction writer. Scientology is a cult, pure and simple. You may as well have the Church of Heinlein, he was a much better writer than L. Ron Hubbard. I guess I will just keep my movie money in my pockets. I refuse to fund someone who uses his celebrity to promote an organization that has bilked so many people out of so much money. I thought he had better sense than that. To compare the beliefs of Scientology to other world religions is an insult to those other religions. And Tom Cruise is just an idiot.

think scientology is just a silly, harmless ‘church’ for wacky folks?

a lot of people do

but some of us know better, and so should you

In 10000 years if neither the Christ or those Scientology aliens (that “might” exist and be part of the higher echilons of the group’s beliefs) have shown up, they are both going to look equally foolish. Smith has it right by sticking to the good of all religions for it is recognizeable good…the rest cant be proven, sorry.

Religion is nothing more than a faith in something you can’t see. As long as we all have some sort of faith, and a fear of the consequences from our actions the world will be a better place. Right and wrong will all be decided when this life is over for each of us, for only those that have past actually know the truth… If there is one. To each their own, and as I have always said . . If you are right when I get there I’ll apologize. If you are wrong, I’ll try to come visit!

Darn, I really used to like Will Smith. Pity he got messed up like that.

sorry guys but not true… Will’s movie “Hancock” wrapped like 6 weeks ago, and Will’s been promoting I Am Legend this whole time, yet this story comes out now? I was working as an extra the day the movie wrapped, and I saw Will give people wine but that’s about the most I saw. I didn’t see any ‘wrap’ gifts that consisted of Scientology cards. My sister has a small part in the film and she even got a gift from him that wasn’t a ‘free card’. Biggest bunch of crap I’ve read about the guy in awhile. I guess that’s what happens when you’re the biggest star in the world huh?
