Barbados and the Caribbean on a whole, are filled with many persons of mixed races...some are very light skinned with Afro type hair; some may be dark skinned with Indo type hair; i even know a brown skinned girl with curly, naturally blond hair...the descriptions of the mixtures of races are infinite.(so if you had taken a look around, you'd realise that you weren't so unique...and therefore no reason to get confused). maybe you need to consider whether in school you had an attitude as if you thought you were superior to the other black kids, because of your light complexion and maybe that's where the problem arose...(because there is definately an inferiority complex in many parts of the Caribbean and the world when it comes to the colour of skin...for whatever reasons).maybe you used to act all 'legally-blond-ish'. Just stay true to yourself and your culture (whatever it may be) and everythin will be fine...(which does not exclude appreciating other cultures).
